The Psalms In History - Article 1 
This article is taken from The Psalms in Worship, Edited by John McNaughter. It contains a numberof articles by various Presbyterian Ministers at a conference/symposium on Psalmody in 1905. As the conference was held in both Pittsburg and Chicago there are two separate articles by different authors on each subject assigned.

The article gives an inspiring account of how the Psalms have motivated and strengthened the Lord's poeple over the centuries.  It documents how armies used them as battle songs and how martyrs expired with them on their lips. See how God has used the Psalms in history to bless and strengthen his people.
