American Presbyterian Press News:
The American Presbyterian Press has
recently published Rev. DeBoer's book on hymnody entitled Hymns,
Heretics, and History.
This work is a history of hymnody showing the origins of the practice of
uninspired hymnody in heretical cults in the early church and the use of hymnody
throughout church history by those with a theological axe to grind. It is
intended to be a supplement to Rev. Schwertley's work Exclusive
Pslamody.
Currently Rev. Brian Schwertley's book, the Auburn
Avenue Theology, is at the printer's and is expected to be available by
the beginning of November, 2005. For a review of the book click on the above

General News:
A special meeting of Presbytery was held at The American Presbyterian Church of W.
Wyoming, Pa on September 17 and 18, 2004. It was a wonderful time of fellowship
as we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the American Presbyterian Church. At a
banquet on the 17th the keynote speaker was Rev. Bacon of the American
Reformation Presbyterian Church, whose address stirred and encouraged those in
attendance. The next day various members of Presbytery spoke of various aspects
of the ministry and history of the American Presbyterian Church. It was a
wonderful time in rejoicing in the goodness, mercy, and faithfulness of God in
raising up and preserving the American Presbyterian Church all these years.
Rev. Calel Butler, the third son of Dr. Charles Butler, was ordained at the above noted meeting. He recently (June of 2005) accepted a call from and is currently serving as a pastor in our Bordentown congregation.
